Welcome to Fuego, Tacos and Beer

Fuego is the collaboration of Salvador and Cynthia Maciel. Sal grew up in the State of Michoacan, in the heart of Mexico. Preparing traditional meals was a family project for Sal. At age 6 he would go to market to sell his mom’s famous tortas to the locals. His passion for food grew and at the age of 19 Sal opened his first restaurant in Groveland, California, the gateway to Yosemite National Park. His sister now owns this successful restaurant, and Sal’s
other siblings have restaurants throughout California.

Cynthia was born and raised here in Turlock. Cynthia grew up being taught the importance of eating healthy, fresh food, and Cynthia’s mom would add unique vegetables to traditional dishes. When Cynthia married
Sal in 1997 she quickly became an asset in his culinary endeavor, and brought her own approach.

Fuego is the combined passion of Sal’s traditional experiences and Cynthia’s modern, healthy approach. Traditional, healthy Latin dishes presented in a new and unique way.
